Accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is one of the best decisions that you could ever make. It not only helps you now by giving you someone who is on your side, someone to look out for you, someone who wants the best for you, freedom from sin and shame; but also helps you out for the future in that it gives you everlasting life. It saves you from being trapped by satan and saves you from spending an eternity in hell.
In order to be saved you must repent of all of your sins (and I mean sincerely repent) and you must accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
Here are a few scriptures dealing with salvation.
Acts 4:12
“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved.”
Romans 10:9-10
“because if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with he heart a person believes resulting in his justification; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses, resulting in and confirming salvation.”
Acts 2:38
“And Peter said to them, ‘Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’”
John 14:6
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.’”
Acts 16:31
“And they answered, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.’”
When I accepted Jesus Christ and became saved, I said a salvation prayer. I’m sure pretty much everyone who has accepted Jesus has said a version of it.
But, in case you haven’t and want to accept Jesus Christ into your life here is one that you can say.
Dear God,
I know that I am a sinner and I am coming to you for forgiveness. I repent of all my sins and ask you to come in and cleanse me. I believe and confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the son of God, that he died on the cross for my sins and that you raised Him from the dead on the third day. I accept Him as my Lord and Savior and ask that you come and make a home inside my heart. Thank you for your acceptance into your kingdom.
Amen.
