To God With Love

Loving God is one of the best things that we can do for ourselves. Not only are we loving the one who created us, the one who loves us more than any other but also the only one who we most certainly know wants nothing but the best for us. Although we shouldn’t love God only to receive things, it is no secret that if we love God we are able to, in return, receive so many things from God.

It’s true, it says so right in the Bible.

So let’s take a look.

Firstly, we can receive God’s protection. Psalms 145 verse 20 says “ the Lord keeps all who love him, but all the wicked He will destroy.” In this world today there are so many things happening, planes falling out of the sky, earthquakes, floods, accidents etc (and many things to come). What better protection to have from these things than the protection of the one who created the earth? What better protection to have than from the one who knows what will happen next? What better protection to have than from the one who can see my next 100 steps before I even think of making 1?

I’ll answer it for you, there is none. There is no better protection than protection from God.

Here are some other Bible verses about God’s protection.

Proverbs 18:10

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and is safe and set on high.”

Proverbs 20:22

“Do not say ‘I will repay evil’; wait for the Lord, and He will rescue and save you.”

2 Thessalonians 3:3

“But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and will protect and guard you from the evil one.”

Psalm 34:19

“Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, but the Lord rescues him from them all.”

Isaiah 41:10

“Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand.”

Deuteronomy 20:4

“for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.”

As shown in all of these scriptures (among many many more that are in the Bible). God loves us and will protect those who love Him.

A prayer for God’s protection.

Heavenly Father,

You are the maker of Heaven and the earth. There is nothing that you do not know about, nothing that you cannot see and nothing that you will not do for those who love you. Your protection is one of the only things that we need in the world today. Evil is great in this world today but we know that you are greater, for there is no one greater than you. We thank you for protecting us thus far from the plans of the evil one and we ask that you continue to provide us with your protection. We ask that through your protection you keep us from whatever is not for us, keep us from wherever we need to not go and from whomever we need to not meet. Your protection is the only things that saves us. Please continue to keep us surrounded by your angels and under your care. Amen.
