To God With Love

There are times in our lives when we go through a period where it seems like God is just not listening to us.

I’m actually going through a time like that right now.

I find myself saying “God are you not listening or are you just not answering me?” But the answer is that it’s neither, because God is always listening to us and He answers us; it’s just not always when or how we want or think it should be.

Truthfully, in those moments I’m in my feelings. I feel like crying, shedding real tears y’all. And many times they actually do fall, I just try not to let them fall in front of others. But that’s when I’ve got to take a moment… breathe… and talk to myself.

You see, God always has our best interests in mind, He’s always looking out for us, and always wants us to be healthy and prosperous. Whatever He leads us to, He will also lead us through. He already knows what we need and what was the road ahead of us looks like.

God is our father. He loves us, looks out for us, and guides us. He will never lead us in the wrong way. So if there is a delay, it’s for a good reason. If there is a denial, it’s for a good reason. If there’s a not with this person, it’s for a good reason. And often, that reason is because He has something better for us. We just have to trust Him, even though it may be hard sometimes, and wait on His yes. Sometimes that yes comes when you least expect it.

Here are a few scriptures that help ease my mind in times when I feel like God may not be listening:

Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to Me and I will answer you, and tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish”

1 Peter 3:12 “For the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who practice evil.”

Psalm 34:17 “When the righteous cry, the Lord hears and rescues them from all their distress and troubles.”

1 John 5:14-15 “This is the confidence which we have before Him: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears and listens to us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.”

Proverbs 15:29 “The Lord is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous.”

Matthew 21:22 “And whatever you ask for in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your cares on Him, for He cares about you.”

Mark 11:24 “For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received them, and they will be given to you.”

Isaiah 65:24 “It shall also come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.”

John 16:24 “Until now you have not asked for anything in My name; but now ask and keep on asking and you will receive, so that your joy may be full and complete.”
